Another day spent paint stripping with the passenger side now done. Found evidence of a few old repairs, a couple of rust repair sections and one section of damage. Other than that both quarters are pretty straight. There are a few minor rust areas that will need to be repaired including a few awkward spots, but I’ll leave that to the professionals.
The previous owners thought they would be doing me a favour by giving the car a quick respray before I picked it up. Then they got the colour wrong so did it twice. There is a lot of paint on it!
There are a few rust spots where the stainless trim sat that will need to be cut out and repaired.
It’s slow progress but it’s what the panel beater asked me to do. He only dust blasts the panels just to clean them up.
There has been a previous rust repair in the front quarter and a small section at the front of the sill.
There is sdome previous damage at the rear quarter near the door. The back of the quarter still has the original primer.
There is a small rust spot near the drip rail here.
Pretty straight an no evidence of rust.
Another side done, will hopefully get the other side finished next weekend. The panle beater doesn’t want it for a couple of months though. but plenty of other things to work on in the meantime.
