Still Paint Stripping
Stripped the front quarter and about half the rear quarter. Found a few more old repairs and some more light rust that was under where the tuckers rivets go through the bodywork for the trim. Quite a lot of this rust was not visible so glad I’m going back to bare metal otherwise I would…

More paint stripping
Another day spent paint stripping with the passenger side now done. Found evidence of a few old repairs, a couple of rust repair sections and one section of damage. Other than that both quarters are pretty straight. There are a few minor rust areas that will need to be repaired including a few awkward spots,…

I was contemplating trying to clean them up with the upholstery on but that’s not really possible so I decided to tear them down. Plus, with 50 year old hessian and some pretty manky old foam, I think it would…

More parts
Not much work on the car this weekend but I did take some time to sort through a load of parts that arrived from the Cortina Owners Club last week. The owners club in the UK are awesome and with the solid exchange rate at the moment (thank you Brexit), buying parts from them is…
